Comprehensive Instruction for Competitive Juniors  Mike Bender, whom Golf Digest calls “One of America’s Five Greatest Teachers”, has personally designed the Mike Bender Golf Academy Junior Champions Program as an advanced, comprehensive coaching program for young golfers who are playing competitive golf and want to compete at the collegiate level and beyond. To be eligible for the program, a participant must be playing competitive golf on a regular basis and be between the ages of 10 and 18. We happily accept both boys and girls in the program. Since its inception in 2000 we have built an internationally-recognized program by producing tournament winners on the local, state and national levels. More than 70 of our students have gone on to receive college scholarships with several already having graduated to playing at the professional level. This program includes private lessons and runs from November through May with a break during the Summer/Fall competitive season. This is your unique opportunity to train where the pros train and train the way the pros train at the Mike Bender Golf Academy, the “Home of Champions.“ Our Junior Champions Program Includes: • Weekly 30-minute individual private lesson. • Weekly one-hour supervised practice with one of our staff professionals. • Monthly on-course management lesson with one of our staff professionals. • A tournament observation by one of our instructor during competition. • One-year subscription to ShotByShot statistical tracking program. • Two comprehensive short-game skills evaluations. • Comprehensive Mental Golf Profile evaluation. • A putting stroke evaluation using the state-of-the-art SAM Putt Lab computer. • Complete equipment evaluation using the TrackMan launch monitor used by the PGA Tour players. • MBGA golf bag, MBGA hat, MBGA shirts and a leather yardage book holder. • 20% discount on all additional services purchased at the academy while enrolled in the Junior Champions program. The Program Details... Weekly 30-minute Individual Private Lesson  The program includes a 30-minute lesson each week with each participant's preferred MBGA instructor for a total of two hours each calendar month. Lessons can be combined i.e. a one-hour lesson every other week, but we recommend shorter, more frequent sessions with our instructors to maximize improvement.Weekly One-hour Supervised Practice Session Each week our instructors will host a supervised practice session where they will work with each player to make sure they are working on their assigned drills and using the best possible practice techniques to speed improvement. Monthly on-course Management Lesson Each month participants will go on the golf course with one of our staff instructors for a two-hour, on-course strategy lesson. Tournament Observation The academy staff recognizes the immense value of being able to watch juniors play under tournament conditions. Much can be learned about their game that cannot be seen on the lesson tee. An instructor will attend selected local events to watch each Junior Champion participant to better identify competitive strengths and weaknesses. ShotByShot Statistical Analysis ShotByShot is a total game analysis program that accurately evaluates your golf game and does so in a unique way. The pros refer to their stats all of the time to evaluate how their games stack up compared to other players at their level. ShotByShot’s online program measures the strengths and weakness of your game and then compares them to your target handicap. This insightful analysis is very helpful in directing our focus and your practice time. ShotByShot is the Performance Analysis Partner to Golf Digest. Two Comprehensive Short Game Evaluations This short game test is given to both analyze each player’s short game condition and to help motivate them towards improvement. Through many years of research we know how players at every level should score on this test in order to perform well in tournaments. This test also helps our instructors prioritize each participant’s short game practice. Mental Golf Profile Analysis The Mental Golf Profile provides information about each player’s tendencies and recommends strategies for customized mental game improvements. Each golfer spends about 10 minutes answering the multiple-choice questionnaire. A 20-plus page report will be sent to the student and the instructor for review. Pre-Round preparation, mental tendencies when playing shots, course management, working with your instructors, and mental tendencies towards golf fitness will be highlighted. Your coach will sit down with you for a complete review of the results. A SAM Putt Lab Comprehensive Putting Evaluation This session will include a detailed computer analysis on the state-of-the-art SAM Putt Lab that will detail the golfer's putting stroke. The session will include a detailed plan for improvement. Each golfer will get a hard copy printout of the evaluation results. A Clubfitting Session Using the TrackMan Launch Monitor Participants will receive an equipment evaluation and clubfitting session including loft and lie checks, clubfitting specifications, set make-up review and condition check of all clubs and a comprehensive evaluation using the TrackMan launch monitor. MBGA Merchandise Participants will receive an MBGA-logoed Nike carry golf bag, MBGA Nike hat, MBGA Nike shirts, and a leather yardage book cover. Academy Discounts All participants will receive a 20% discount on all additional services at the Mike Bender Golf Academy while enrolled in the Junior Champions Program.
